This classic home required a timeless landscape to match. A primary focus was to add seasonal interest and color. This was achieved by designing a curved driveway and entrance path to the home using concrete pavers chosen to resemble an old world cobble. Using strong lines to define the spaces, the designed filled in with perennials, shrubs, trees and annuals for strong color and texture in every season.
The yellow plants in the back planting bed are The Rocket Ligularia with impatiens under them. Everything is surrounded by Hostas and Astilbe which are low maintenance and high impact perennials. They are back dropped by Techny Arborvitae. In the spring, ornamental trees such as redbud, crabapple and serviceberry fill the front yard with color. Fall color was achieved by planting Autumn Blaze Maple to line the driveway and the use of perennial grasses whose interest lasts throughout winter.
